We welcome clients of all sizes, especially those with large domain name portfolios! Our team will work with you to help you manage your domain names.
For clients with large portfolios, we sometimes get asked if we can provide a monthly billing option. We completely understand the need to reduce the number of transactions. Unfortunately, due to the nature of domain registrations and the importance of the payment being processed in advance of their expiry date, it isn't possible for us to offer a monthly billing option.
Account Top-Up Feature
We offer an "account top-up" option that's a bit like paying an advance. You can add whatever is considered a reasonable amount to cover domain registrations and renewals for the next month or two. Your billing department might be able to tell you the typical spend each month.
You can top-up your client account whenever you need by going to Add Funds. When our billing system generates an invoice, it will automatically apply the available credit to the invoice and mark it as paid if sufficient funds are available.
From our own experience with other suppliers, we usually top-up Irish suppliers once every two months (because Ireland has a bi-monthly tax period). That means we only have six transactions in our accounts each year (but we must still retain an annual statement of invoices in case Revenue wants to check). In other words, there are 6 transactions, but an annual file kept containing the 1000 invoices.
Note: Top-ups are not subject to VAT. Records of individual invoices would still need to be stored in case of a VAT inspection.
Important Information on Auto-Renewals
Our general advice to all clients is that they should keep auto-renew enabled on all their domain names. This means renewal invoices are created automatically, and payment will be taken automatically.
Important: Payment will be taken automatically if there is a sufficient account balance or if there is a valid card on file. If you use the account top-up feature and you do NOT want domain names to be renewed automatically, you should:
- Disable auto-renew on your domain names (see here how: I want to cancel my service or domain)
- Do NOT keep a card on file (you can manage your payment methods here: Payment Methods)
Alternatively, you can contact our billing department to disable automatic card processing for your account. - Setup a regular routine where you login and manually process renewals (on the domain renewals page here: Renew)
- Domain renewals should always be processed before their expiry date to make sure there is no interruption to service.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
